Joy’s engaging and personal style lend themselves to providing inspiration and a sense of connection in whatever the setting.

Joy’s background in pastoral ministries, her understanding of the power of story, and her passion for spiritual things come together in a unique way to provide the listeners ‘food’ for the heart and soul.

Joy also uses biblical story, folktales, modern day parables and more to craft an evening of Sacred Stories, stories that leave the listener open to the God questions, the God ‘Ah-hah’ moments.

Programs in Retirement Communities

Joy tells stories to residents in the various levels of care in retirement communities that focus on remembering a life well lived, and living well in the moment.

Joy spent 5 years as a manager in a continuing care retirement community, with responsibilities overseeing the skilled nursing unit and the activities professionals for all levels of care. Her experience and understanding of what residents in the different levels of care need to stimulate their imaginations and enrich their lives provides her with an ability to tailor her telling to be more effective and engaging.
